stay or go?

clocks
Hey guys, I need your opinion on something.

Remember how I told you that one of my videos is being screened at the film festival? Well, that's next weekend, Saturday July 23rd in NYC.

That weekend, I have:

1) Deck building on Saturday
2) Recording on Sunday

Both can be rescheduled. Should I attend the festival? I don't want to drive; I'd just fly. And I'd have to stay Saturday night (latest flight out of LGA is 9.30pm).

Total cost = $400-$500. I don't feel like spending the money, but I think it would really cool to attend a festival as a 'featured director'! I also don't particularly care about networking at this event. So I'd only be going because it's fun, not for professional gain.

Robin said she wouldn't care if I were gone a night. I have the money, I'm just not sure if that's the best use of it.

So should I:

- Forget about the money and go to the festival?
- Save the money and do what I had planned? (not into the band, btw)
- Do something else entirely?

Who wants to come w/ me to NYC for a night?

Would it be an excellent networking occasion? Do you have many business cards and spaces in your address book? If so, it's probably an excellent investment.

And if not, it's simply really cool. How often do these opportunities come along? Enjoy it - *it* can't be rescheduled.

(Speaking of, let's hammer down a specific day/time for this coming week, I can't recall where we left off, and today is a day of unhappy ambiguous scheduling side effects. Email or text or something when you've got a minute?)

i say go because being a featured director for a weekend is much more fun than building a deck. seriously though, since the others can be rescheduled and you have the money i would say treat yourself to a night in the big apple and see how everyone reacts to your film. indulge the *other* artist in you for a night ;-)
